DSU Study Abroad
Annual opportunity for 10 rising juniors at DSU abroad campuses (with NYCPS staff)
DSU in partnership with NYCPS faculty will take 10 rising juniors to a cultural visit to one of their designated international campuses to engage in academic coursework for 10 days
During the cultural visits DSU faculty in partnership with NYCPS staff will engage in the following:
Cultural Immersion Activities:
Engage in local cultural activities such as traditional cooking classes, folk music and dance workshops, visits to historical landmarks, and participation in local festivals to deepen students' understanding of the host country's culture.
Educational Excursions:
Organize visits to universities, museums, art galleries, and cultural centers where students can attend lectures, interact with local students and professors, and learn about the host country's history, art, and scientific advancements.
If applicable DSU will offer language learning opportunities:
Provide language classes and practice sessions with native speakers to enhance students' language skills, including conversational practice, cultural nuances, and formal language instruction.
Community Engagement and Service:
Involve students in community service projects and volunteer activities that promote social responsibility and allow them to give back to the local community, fostering global citizenship and cross-cultural empathy.
